November 17, 2021. Pulilan, Bulacan. The Fertilizer Regulations Division (FRD) conducted an inspection of the fertilizer manufacturing plant of Romarc Enterprises on November 17, 2021, to witness the said company’s manufacturing process for their product Yama BYM as well as to address their request for product registration without undergoing a bioefficacy trial.  The plant is located in Pulilan, Bulacan, hence the respective FPA provincial officer for the area, Mr. Roel P. Valdez assisted the inspection team.

The FRD inspection team was comprised of Dr. Myer G. Mula, Ms. Julieta B. Lansangan, Ms. Rowena C. Reyes, and Mr. Mike P. Cuento. The company’s proprietor, Mr. Fernando C. Castillo, and Ms. Encarnacion P. Castillo also assisted them in their inspection

Their visit started with a discussion on the company’s request to waive the Experimental Use Permit (EUP) requirement prior to product registration. It was agreed that the guidelines for EUP will be reviewed to check if the product can be registered as either fortified organic or soil conditioner.  This was followed by the plant inspection which ended with the team taking a sample of their product to analyze the levels of N, P, K,  organic matter, and moisture content.
