TAPTAP, CEBU CITY | November 16, 2022 – The Cebu Agrochemical Technicians Association (CATA), in cooperation with the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority Region VII, will be conducting a “Baylo-Basiyo Program” on November 22, 2022 in the mountain barangay of Taptap, Cebu City.
In preparation for this program, CATA Officers headed by its President Eugenio Tabas and Vice President Thoniel Aballe, along with FPA Provincial Officer Sunday Flores visited the said LGU and discussed the details of the activity, especially the disposal of the collected empty pesticide containers with the chairman of Agriculture of the city, Councilor Jun Alcover.
Councilor Alcover raised their plan on formulating a city ordinance for the monitoring of pesticide residue of agricultural products landed and sold in the public markets of Cebu City.
Through this program, the Local Government Unit of Cebu City will facilitate the collection of empty pesticide containers from farmers for proper disposal in exchange for giveaways from different fertilizer and pesticide companies operating in the province.
Farmers from the nearby and adjacent barangays are also invited. ###
