    Enhancing the capabilities of FPA on cash management

    The Commission on Audit (COA) conducted an exclusive seminar on “Cash Management and Control System (CMCS)” for the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority in the FPA Central Office, Quezon City. The seminar, which was attended by FPA personnel from the Central, Regional and Provincial Offices, aimed to strengthen understanding and application of knowledge on 1) accountability and responsibility over government funds, 2) receipts and collections and 3) expenditures and disbursements.

    Gearing towards an ISO certified FPA

    In order to become a continually-improving, stakeholder satisfaction-driven government agency, the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority has organized an ISO 9001:2015 Awareness Seminar through the leadership of the FPA-Quality Management System Committee in technical partnership with the QConsult Incorporated. Attended by technical staff from Central Office Divisions, the seminar tackled important matters on ISO essentials, its principles and clauses, the Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle, and ISO certification requirements.

    Campaigning for safe and judicious use of farm inputs

    The FPA-Regional Office 4 headed by Regional Officer Ms. Leticia Hernandez organized a Farmers’ Training on Safe and Judicious Use of Fertilizer and Pesticide Products with Bayer Crop Science and the LGU Agriculture Office in Oriental Mindoro. This is in line with the fulfilment of the FPA’s mandate to educate the agriculture sector on the risks and disadvantages of misusing these products.

    Auditing of licensing activities in the field

    The Fertilizer Regulations Division led by Division Chief Ms. Julieta Lansangan together with Supervising Agriculturist Ms. Rowena Reyes has conducted an audit of licensing processes and activities in FPA-Regional Office 7 led by Regional Officer Mr. Arnulfo Arausa. This activity aimed to monitor and validate if the licensing processes being done in the Field Units are aligned with that of the Central Office.

    Boosting the knowledge and skills of industry manpower

    The FPA-Regional Office 11 led by Regional Officer Ms. Estrella Laquinta together with FPA Executive Director Wilfredo C. Roldan and FPA-Planning, Management and Information Division (PMID) participated in the Philippine Association of Entomologists’ (PAE) Symposium for the Renewal of Accreditation themed “Management of Plantation Crops through Conventional and Biorational Inputs”. The FPA-PMID administered the examination for the renewal of accreditation after the symposium.
