July 31 - August 03, 2018 : Assessing the performance of FPA for the 1st Semester 2018
For the first two days, FPA looked back at the performance of the agency for the first half of 2018 and looked ahead to the accomplishment of its targets set forth for the second half of the same year. In the next two days, the regional officers and participants from the Central Office kept themselves updated on the Procurement Law. Resource persons accredited by the GPBB were invited to provide information on new and existing procurement rules and regulations.
06 - 07 August 2018 : Improving capacities of employees on records management
Around 40 employees from the Central Office and Regional Units underwent a Record Management Training for two days. The purpose of the training is to provide employees with the necessary tools to improve their system of record keeping. The participants were given an overview of the RA 9470 or the National Archives Act of 2007. Also, among the topics discussed the following: (1) archiving; (2) storage condition and handling; (3) records protection; and (4) file administration. The resource person came from the National Archives of the Philippines.
11 August 2018 : Campaigning for the Safe and Judicious Use of Fertilizer and Pesticide Products
A Clean Up Drive was conducted by the FPA Cordillera Administrative Region in the province of Kalinga. The activity is part of the mandate of FPA to monitor the establishments’ compliance with FPA rules and regulations. Joining FPA CAR’s Supervising Agriculturist, Rey Q. Segismundo in this activity is the provincial officer of Kalinga, Engr. Agusto M. Nagayang.
13 August 2018 : Improving the knowledge of farmers through information campaign
The FPA Region IX organized a seminar on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in Rice , Corn and Vegetables. The activity was participated in by farmers of Titay Valley, Zamboanga Sibugay. FPA Region IX, headed by its Supervising Agriculturist Alex Paalisbo, coordinated the activity with the local government unit and the municipal agriculture office.
14 August 2018 : Updating the knowledge of industry professionals
In collaboration with Crop Life Philippines headed by its Executive Director Edilberto De Luna, the FPA Region II conducted a Training on Safe and Judicious Use of Pesticides. Around 30 partipants, composed of Agricultural Extension Workers(AEWs) and Farmer-Led Extensionist in the Province of Nueva Vizcaya actively joined the said training. FPA Region II is led by its Supervising Agriculturist, Henry M. Fronda.
14 August 2018 : Enforcing the law and fulfilling the mandate in the field
Ms. Marrisa G. Napalit, Provincial Officer of Davao del Norte and concurrently the OIC of FPA Region XI, spoke during the Product Stewardship and Warehouse Management Training initiated by Bayer Crop Science. She explained FPA’s Memo Circular No.12 Series of 2017 mandating all licensed FPA establishments to provide trash bins for empty pesticides bottles and containers. The event was held at Golden Palace Hotel, Tagum City, Davao del Norte participated in by Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley Province's dealers, warehousemen and Store incharge.
14 - 15 August 2018 : Enforcing the law and fulfilling the mandate in the field
FPA CARAGA Region Supervising Agriculturist Danilo S. Negre spoke during the Product Stewardship and Warehouse Management Training organized by Bayer CropScience. He reiterated the role of industry in promoting safe and judicious use and storage of pesticides. The following day, Mr. Negre and his provincial officers inspected F/P dealers to know whether they are providing trash bins for empty pesticides bottles and containers as emphasized in Memo Circular No. 12 series of 2017.
16 - 17 August 2018 : Campaigning for the Safe and Judicious Use of Fertilizer and Pesticide Products
The FPA Davao Team had its hands full in its two-day clean-up drive in the province of Davao Occidental. FPA Region XI OIC, Mariz Napalit supervised the operation, with the support of her co-provincial officers. Thereafter, Davao Occidental Provincial Officer Imelda Rasay led the team in visiting various fertilizer and pesticide dealers of Brgy. Damolok and Poblacion Malita. The team also visited the plant, warehouse and chemical mixing facility located at Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental.
17 August 2018 : Enhancing the knowledge of stakeholders on safe use and proper disposal of pesticide
The FPA-Sultan Kudarat organized a seminar on Good Agricultural Practice participated in by some members of the academe as well as rice and vegetable farmers in the area. Cherubin M. Alonzo, Provincial Officer of FPA, emphasized the proper disposal of empty containers of pesticide. Any licensed FPA establishment is mandated to provide thrash bin for the said empty containers.
17 August 2018 : Campaigning for the Safe and Judicious Use of Fertilizer and Pesticide Products
Romulo N. Crucillo, FPA’s Provincial Officer of Laguna inspected the warehouse of Bayer Crop Science Inc. as part of its Good Housekeeping Monitoring Program. Ms. Dimaculangan , a Bayer CSI staff, accompanied him during the inspection.
20 August 2018 : Working towards an improved FPA Quality Management System
After going through with all the needed activities and preparations for an ISO Certification 9000:2015, the Fertilizer Regulations Division went through the Stage II Audit. It is during this stage where the auditors from the TUV Rheinland Philippines determined the degree of compliance with the standard’s requirements. Only when Stage II is successful does the management system of the agency will be certified. The auditors interviewed, observed and asked for documents from the process owners as part of its audit.
29 August 2018 : Enforcing the law and fulfilling the mandate in the field
It was a day full of activities for the FPA officers in Region VII, headed by Arnulfo L. Arausa, Jr.. The team: (1) distributed the "FPA Paalala" brochure to dealers in the area; (2) validated and inspected establishments whether they provide trash bins for empty pesticide bottles and containers; (3) inspected warehouses; (4) monitored F/P products; and (5) provided the participants in the stakeholders meeting with information on existing and new FPA policies and regulations.
30 - 31 August 2018 : Continuing institutional partnership with acadame and industry experts
The Accredited Safety Dispenser (ASD) Training was successfully conducted by FPA Region IV, headed by its Supervising Agriculturist, Leticia R. Hernandez. Fifty-six (56) participants coming from various provinces in the region joined the training. This is the fourth installment of the ASD Training conducted by FPA Region IV, held in Diamond Hotel,Lucena City.
31 August 2018 : Updating the knowledge of industry professionals
Around 50 participants attended the two-day Accredited Safety Dispensers Training organized by FPA CARAGA Region, headed by its Supervising Agriculturist Danilo S. Negre. Among the topics discussed include the Presidential Decree 1144 and its implementing guidelines. The activity was held in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.
31 August 2018 : Campaigning for the Safe and Judicious Use of Fertilizer and Pesticide Products
The FPA Region VIII, headed by its Supervising Agriculturist Francis B. Costas, and supported by his core team of provincial officers, initiated an information campaign to the personnel of Roancy Marketing and Juron Trading. O ne of the mandates of our field officers is to eduate the public in the proper and judicious use of fertilizer and pesticide.
