July 23, 2026 | Virac, Catanduanes – The Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA) Regional Field Unit V conducted a three-day series of regulatory and capacity-building activities in Catanduanes from July 21 to 23, 2026, at the Rhaj Executive Inn & Apartelle to strengthen regulatory compliance and promote the safe and responsible use of fertilizers and pesticides.

The activity began with a coordination meeting attended by Provincial and Municipal Agriculturists and Rice Focal Persons to align program implementation, reporting protocols, and agricultural service delivery across the province.

FPA also conducted training on the Safe and Judicious Use of Fertilizers and Pesticides for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), members of Local Farmers Irrigators’ Associations, and a two-day Accredited Safety Dispenser (ASD) Training for Rice Cluster Representatives to enhance participants’ knowledge on the proper handling, distribution, and responsible use of agricultural inputs.

The activity concluded with a Stakeholders Consultative Meeting with fertilizer and pesticide dealers, where FPA discussed regulatory concerns, reminded participants to source agricultural inputs only from FPA-licensed dealers and distributors, and emphasized compliance with FPA laws, rules, and regulations, including the prohibition on the online sale of fertilizers and pesticides.

The three-day activity forms part of FPA’s continuing efforts to strengthen regulatory compliance, promote the safe and judicious use of fertilizers and pesticides, and support sustainable agricultural development through information, education, and stakeholder engagement.
