MASBATE CITY | May 26, 2026 – As part of the 49th Anniversary celebration of the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA), the FPA Regional Field Unit V (RFU V) conducted a series of trainings, consultations, and stakeholder engagement activities in Masbate City from May 19 to 21, 2026, with more than 100 participants from the agricultural sector.

The three-day activity aimed to strengthen collaboration among government agencies, local stakeholders, and farming communities while promoting the responsible and effective implementation of fertilizer and pesticide regulations in the region.

Activities conducted included a consultation meeting with Municipal and City Agriculturists, Rice Focal Persons, and Report Officers, as well as the Safe and Judicious Use of Fertilizers and Pesticides Training for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) on May 19. This was followed by the Accredited Safety Dispensers (ASD) Training for Rice Clusters on May 20–21 and the Fertilizer and Pesticide Industry Stakeholders Meeting on May 21.

Participants included AEWs, agriculturists, rice coordinators, irrigators’ associations, local government units, rice cluster representatives, farmers, and industry stakeholders across the province.

The activities also served as a venue to reorient stakeholders on existing FPA rules, regulations, and regulatory processes to strengthen compliance and improve the delivery of services at the local level.

Led by Regional Officer Gabriel B. Atole, the successful conduct of the activities highlights FPA RFU V’s continued commitment to stakeholder empowerment, capacity-building, and sustainable agricultural development in the Bicol Region.

As FPA approaches nearly five decades of service to Philippine agriculture, the Agency remains committed to advancing responsible regulation, farmer protection, environmental stewardship, and increased agricultural productivity nationwide. ###
