December 13, 2021 | Quezon City. Capping this year’s observance of the 18-Day End Violence Against Women (VAW) Campaign, the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority Gender and Development Focal Point System (FPA-GADFPS) awarded the winners for the Macho Choir Contest.

The #DoTheMachoChoir Challenge is an advocacy against catcalling which aims to spread awareness about the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313).

With the theme, “Filipino Marespeto; Safe Spaces, Kasali Tayo,” the participants produced and utilized dance interpretations, choreography, and costumes that are deemed appropriate to the lyrics and message of the #DoTheMachoChoir Challenge songs.

Ma. Theresa Oliveros, FPA GAD Focal Person, said that the activity also aims to highlight the creative talents of FPA employees. It is also in support to the thematic campaign of the Philippine Commission of Women (PCW) on “VAW-free community starts with Me.”

The winners were judged based on Creativity (30%), Relevance (40%), Technical Organization (20%), and Overall Impact (10%).
