On February 26-27, 2019, the Laboratory Services Division (LSD) underwent an initial assessment for its application for ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accreditation.
ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is the ISO standard that accredits laboratories that can demonstrate operational competence and generate valid results, thereby promoting confidence in their work both locally and internationally.
The Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), composed of technical assessors and experts, reviewed and assessed the documentation and implementation of the Agency’s laboratory as against the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
Actual demonstration of laboratory analyses and interviews had been facilitated to determine the technical competence of each laboratory personnel.
The Assessment Team advised LSD to comply with the results of their on-site findings within six (6) months from the date of the initial assessment.
