04 May 2018 : Campaigning for safe and judicious use of pesticide
FPA Region 2, led by its Supervising Agriculturist Henry M. Fronda organized a Training on Safe and Judicious Use of Pesticides for TAGCHEM Technicians. This was held at Hotel Sophia San Fermin, Cauayan City. FPA continues to enhance the knowledge and skills of industry partners in the proper handling of pesticide products.
09-10 May 2018 : Updating the knowledge of industry professionals
Around 50 participants successfully completed the two-day Accredited Safety Dispenser Training held at San Francisco, Agusan del Sur. This is organized by FPA CARAGA, headed by Supervising Agriculturist Danilo S. Negre. The attendance to this training is a pre-requisite to becoming their companies’ ASD officers.
15-17 May 2018 : Promoting public accountability
A team from Finance and Administrative Division (FAD) conducted a physical count of property, plant and equipment of Region XI’s regional and provincial offices. This is a joint COA-FPA audit to make sure that government property is properly accounted for. The FAD Team is headed by Ms. Alma Escasura, Chief of the General Services Section.
20 May 2018 : Improving stakeholder’s partnership towards growth and productivity
FPA Davao Oriental initiated a one-day activity participated in by around forty (40) dealers of fertilizers and pesticides across the province. This initiative led to the creation of the Davao Oriental Fertilizer and Pesticide Dealers Association Inc. (DOFPDA Inc.). A first set of officers were also elected. The activity was held at Honey's Hotel, City of Mati, Davao Oriental.
21-25 May 2018 : Improving employee’s capacity for monitoring and evaluation
Errol Ramos and Jaylord Tahilan of the Planning, Management, and Information Division (PMID) participated in the five-day seminar entitled: “From Outputs to Outcomes: The Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) System. This was sponsored by DA-Agricultural Training Institute to capacitate planning officers from different DA offices of a newer system of monitoring and evaluation – from traditional to results-based system.

Supervising Agriculturist Danilo S. Negre of FPA CARAGA shared updates on the FPA programs and activities during the Regional Agriculture and Fishery Council meeting (RAFC) held in Surigao City.
24 May 2018 : Participating in farmer’s and fisherfolk month celebration
FPA actively attends the Provincial Farmers and Fisherfolks' Month Celebration of the Departmen of Agriculture in Davao Oriental. FPA reaches out to the farmers by providing free learning materials on Gabay sa paggamit ng abono at pestisidyo held at Capitol Gymnasium, Mati City.
28 May 2018 : Initiating a Farming Community Outreach Program
The FPA kicked-off its anniversary celebration by spending a day with the children of farmers in a farming community located in Brgy. Plaridel, Lipa City, Batangas. The FPA employees, led by Executive Director Wilfredo Roldan and his Deputy, Eric Divinagracia, were welcomed by Ms. Lourdes Silva, the City Agriculturist of Lipa City and Engr. Pablito Balantac, Provincial Agriculturist of Batangas. The families and children enjoyed the games and activities prepared by FPA. There was also a raffle of gifts. The outreach program was joined by some industry stakeholders and the academe, completing the four pillars of the fertilizer and pesticide industry.
29-30 May 2018 : Continuous improvement of knowledge on safe warehousing
FPA invited experts from the Integrated Chemists of the Philippines (ICP) to share updates on warehouse and store inspection standards and procedures. The participants who came from the Central, regional and provincial offices were updated on proper product labelling, chemical handling and storage, and general requirements for Safe Housekeeping. A proposed checklist was presented after the workshop.
30 May 2018 : FPA celebrates 41 years of public service
The Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority, through the leadership of its Executive Director Wilfredo C. Roldan, celebrated its 41st Anniversary. FPA has been existence since 30 May 1977. The occasion was highlighted by the presence of Secretary Emmanuel F. Pinol of the Department of Agriculture who spoke about the critical importance of the agency in faciliting agricultural growth and productivity. It was a day filled with fun and festivities including a talent competition and the awarding of employees. The event was celebrated with the entire FPA family and witnessed by fertilizer and pesticide industry players.
