05 June 2018 : Continuous improvement of knowledge through education and training
Around 30 participants from the major stakeholders in the province joined the Mango Contractors/Growers Training which was organized by FPA Region VII, headed by Arnulfo L. Arausa, Jr. Some of the participants were: Leads Agri Corp headed by thier Area Manager in Negros Island Lucino Cañete, Assistant Manager Dennis Parcon and Technical personnel in Neg. Or. Mr. Edgar Manaba;Provincial Agriculture Office of Siquijor headed by their Provincial Agriculturist Lilibeth Caroro; HVCDP Coordinator Lowell Salve, Mango Coordinator Wilbur Maghanoy, Ms. Ledda Anoos, Rodulfo Nalam and Finina Briones; and the Municipal Agriculture Offices of LGU Larena, LGU Siquijor, LGU San Juan, LGU Lazi, LGU Maria and LGU Enrique Villanueva. The activity was held at Oceanview Farm and Cottages, Brgy. Olang, Maria, Siquijor.
07 June 2018 : Updating the knowledge of industry professionals
The FPA Region IX, headed by Supervising Agriculturist Alex S. Paalisbo held a region-wide seminar on the Guidelines and Field Operation Standards for Agro-chemical field workers to ensure that farmers and other end users will be protected from the risk inherent in pesticides. This was participated in by various chemical companies located in Western Mindanao. This activity is part of the mandate of FPA to continuously educate the stakeholders about the proper use of pesticides.
07 June 2018 : Enforcing the law and fulfilling the mandate in the field
Along with his provincial officers, the FPA CARAGA Team led by Supervising Agriculturist Danilo S. Negre, conducted a random weighing of fertilizers, inspected the warehouse of the Del Monte Banana Plantation located in Cabadbaran City, and issued SUMS order to a dealer selling unregistered pesticides.
07 June 2018 : Campaigning for the Safe and Judicious Use of Fertilizer and Pesticide Products
The FPA Region VII, ably manned by Supervising Agriculturist Arnulfo L. Arausa, Jr. and his provincial officers initiated a seminar on: Safe and Judicious Use of Fertilizer and Pesticide Products. This has been participated by farmers and industry stakeholders in the region who were very enthusiastic and active during the activity. This will not be possible without the collaboration of the industry, specifically the Leads Agri Company. The event took place at Mountain Citi, Kanlaon, Negros Oriental.
13-15 June 2018 : Enforcing the law and fulfilling the mandate in the field
Joseph Andre John Martinez, the Provincial Officer of Pangasinan attended the Capacity-building and Workshop on Insect/Insecticide Resistance Management in Corn, Cabbage, Eggplant, and Mango. This was held at the University of the Philippines-Los Banos.
14 June 2018 : Enforcing the law and fulfilling the mandate in the field
Cheery B. Agrade, the Provincial Officer of Compostela Valley conducted an inspection of the warehouses and chemical mixing facilities of two plantations located in the municipality of Pantukan. She also discussed her findings and recommendations to them. This is part of FPA’s mandate to ensure that plantations observe the rules and regulations under law.

The FPA Davao Oriental, headed by Provincial Officer Rustom Gain A. Tanduyan, conducted warehouse and plantation audit of Anflo Banana Corporation located in Limbahan, Municipality of Lupon. This is to ensure that the fertilizer and pesticide products are properly stored and whether the plantation observes the rules for occupational health and safety of its workers.
18 June 2018 : Stakeholders’ dialogue and partnership towards growth and productivity
FPA Deputy Executive Director Eric C. Divinagracia delivered his remarks during the Agro-Medical Training held at Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City. The event was organized by CropLife Philippines and participated in by industry stakeholders. The officers of FPA Region XI also attended the said event.
18 June 2018 : Working towards an improved FPA Quality Management System
As part of the preparation towards an ISO 9001:2015 certification of the Fertilizer Regulations Division, an internal audit was conducted by select members of the Quality Management System (QMS) Committee of FPA. The findings of the audit were discussed to Julieta B. Lansangan, the Chief of FRD, and her team to make the appropriate actions. The internal audit team was led by Angelo S. Bugarin, Assistant Chief of the Laboratory Services Division
19-20 June 2018 : Ensuring compliance with the law through monitoring and inspection
The FPA SOCKSARGEN Team, headed by Supervising Agriculturist Alita C. Bornea and supported by her provincial officers, conducted a clean-up drive in the City of Koronadal on the first day. The following day, the team continued its clean-up drive in the the municipalities of Norala, Sto. Niño, Surallah, and Banga, South Cotabato Province. This is part FPA's mandate to ensure product quality and safety including inspection of fertilizer and agricultural pesticide products that are un-registered, mislabelled and adulterated.
20-21 June 2018 : Continuous improvement of knowledge through education and training
Romullo Crucillo, FPA’s Provincial Officer for Laguna was the resource speaker in the seminar on Good Agricultural Practices – Pesticide Management and Safe and Judicious Use of Pesticides for Cacao. This was held at Boy Scouts of the Philippines, University of Philippines-Los Banos, Laguna. On another ocassion, Leticia R. Hernandez and Romullo Crucillo, both from FPA Region IV participated in the Formulation Exercises held at Xenia Hotel, Clark, Pampanga on June 8 and 9, 2018.
21 June 2018 : Campaigning for safe and judicious use of pesticide
The FPA Compostela Valley, led by Cheery B. Agrade gave a lecture on: Good Agricultural Practices – Pesticide Management and Safe and Judicious Use of Pesticides attended by Barangay Agricultural Extension Workers and Banana Growers of Municipality of Laak, Compostela Valley Province. Continuously educating the stakeholders on the proper application of pesticides is one of the mandate of FPA.
21-22 June 2018 : Updating the knowledge of industry professionals
Around 25 technicians from the Isabela Sunrise Trading Corporation attended the Training on Safe and Judicious Use of Fertilizers and Pesticides organized by FPA Region II, headed by its Supervising Agriculturist Henry M. Fronda. Among the topics discussed were safe transport, handling, storage, and good warehousing of fertilizer and pesticide.
27 June 2018 : Stakeholders’ dialogue and partnership towards growth and productivity
Rey Q. Seguismundo, FPA’s Supervising Agriculturist for CAR, spoke during the Food Safety Caravan sponsored by the Department of Agriculture (DA). The activity was highlighted by the presence of Atty. Hansel O. Didulo, DA’s Assistant Secretary for Regulations and the Visayas who led the discussion on the Implementing Rules of the Food Safety Act of 2013.
27 June 2018 : Stakeholders’ dialogue and partnership towards growth and productivity
The Department of Agriculture (DA) Region XI invited FPA to the Package Technology Training on Banana plantation. Cheery B. Agrade, FPA’s Provincial Officer of Compostela Valley, served as the resource person. She spoke about Good Agricultural Practices in Pesticide Management. The activity was participated in by barangay agricultural extension workers and banana growers of the Municipality of Mawab, Compostela Valley.
28 June 2018 : Continuous improvement of knowledge through education and training
FPA Region IX was invited in the High Impact Activity organized by BASF Company, in which around 200 farmers across Sibugay Valley attended. Dion Mark Bohol, Provincial Officer of Zamboanga del Norte gave a lecture on Safe and Responsible Use of Fertilizer and Pesticide and reminded the farmers on the proper and judicious application of such crop protection products. The activity was held at Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.
29 June 2018 : Enforcing the law and fulfilling the mandate in the field
FPA Region IX, represented by Dion Mark Bohol, actively participated in the public hearing on the proposed ordinance entitled: Regulating the use of Pesticides and other sprays for Mango Production in the Municipality of Jose Dalman, prescribing panalties for Violators Thereof and for Other Purposes. The public hearing called by the Sanggunian of Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte was participated in by various stakeholders including farmers, mango contractors and pesticide handlers.
