    Improving the implementation of transparency and governance

    The FPA participated in the 4th Interagency Business Process Interoperability (IABPI) Plenary Session with the Dangerous Drug Board, Optical Media Board and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Makati City. The project aims to simplify the import and export documentation of regulated products and to automate the documentary processes of trade regulatory government agencies.

    The FPA-Regional Office 7 headed by Regional Officer Mr. Arnulfo Arausa joined the industry in conducting an Information Education Campaign imparting the advance technologies in agriculture for food sustainability, security and safety.     Contributing to the rehabilitation and conservation of the Manila Bay

    In collaboration with the Pampanga Local Government Unit on agriculture and environment, the FPA-Regional Office 3 headed by Regional Officer Mr. Antonio Cruz, Jr. and the FPA-Fertilizer Regulations Division headed by Ms. Julieta Lansangan held a Manila Bay clean-up drive in Macabebe, Pampanga. On the FPA’s part, the water samples are being tested to identify the presence of chemical farm inputs.

    The FPA-Regional Office 7 headed by Mr. Arnulfo Arausa conducted a follow-up operation on the alleged presence of residue of Endosulfan found in mango fruits in Cebu. Assisted information and awareness drive campaign against the use of this banned pesticide among fruit vendors was conducted in coordination with Mr. Ramero Pungtod, OIC-Municipal Agriculturist of Carmen, Cebu.

The Conference provided a venue for updating technical know-how in agricultural practices and systems as well as for showcasing technological advancements in the agriculture industry in Asia and around the world.
